Newsletter: India-Sweden Strategic Compass Vol. 2, No. 4, July-August 2023
September 8, 2023: The Stockholm Center for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs publishes a bi-monthly newsletter, the ‘India-Sweden Strategic Compass’. The newsletter focuses on current affairs, highlighting Sweden and India relations, India-Nordic relations, EU-India relations, domestic developments in India, and relevant international updates.

Important events have taken place in which both India and Sweden are at the forefront. India and Sweden have participated in a peace conference in Saudi Arabia, in which peace talks regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine were on the agenda.
The BRICS summit was held in South Africa, which Russian President Vladimir Putin attended virtually. Dialogue prior to the G20 summit has been held between India and the EU, in which trade and investments have been on the agenda. Furthermore, joint naval exercises between India and the EU have taken place, and Sweden-India security cooperation is gaining traction, as well as US-India Security ties.
India has made some tremendous progress in its scientific endeavors, as the Chandrayaan-3 space mission is declared a success. The issue also covers the historical partnership between India and Sweden in space.
When it comes to technological partnerships, several have been noted as Tata Steel joining the Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT), as well as the Indian Ambassador to Sweden & Latvia, Tanmaya Lal, visiting Riga to discuss technological collaboration.
