Sooyeon Jung

Dr. Sooyeon Jung was a visiting fellow at ISDP in November 2019. She has been working as a Research Fellow at the Institute for National Security Strategy in Seoul for seven years. Her current research is about sanctions on North Korea, US’ foreign policy toward the Korean Peninsula and the EU’s role in North Korean denuclearization.

She received her PhD in Political Science from the Sookmyung Women’s University and master’s degree in Politics from New York University. Her dissertation analysed the mechanism of the Trump administration’s sanctions on North Korea.
