Patterns of DPRK’s Transition

These are closely linked to two issues: the third generation power succession is proceeding in the political area and the market activity that gets more distinctive in the economic area. In this seminar, speaker will introduce the method for measuring the future transition of DPRK by six criterias: Power, Ideology, Institution, Integration, Rebellion, and Coup. Four of the above are designed for measuring gradual patterns, while the other two indicators for measuring radical patterns.

Speaker: Dr. Seung Yeol Lee is senior researcher at the Unification Institute of Ewha Womans University and currently visiting researcher at ISDP.

Discussant: John Rydqvist is program manager division of defence analysis at FOI.
