Haitske Pottinga is an intern at the Stockholm Taiwan Center at ISDP.  She is currently doing a Master’s degree in Asian Studies at Leiden University. In this degree, she tries to specialize in topics related to Taiwan and China. Besides that, she has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in History.

Her interests lie with East-Asian foreign relations, focused on politics, economics, and culture. Besides an interest in geopolitics, she is also interested in Taiwanese domestic politics. She wrote her BSc thesis on the development of the legalization of same-sex marriage in Taiwan. For her MA thesis she is focusing on the reaction of the Taiwanese government to Trump’s second term.
