Ms. Atmaja Gohain Baruah is a Ph.D. research scholar at the Department of Comparative Asian Studies at the National University of Singapore and a recipient of the President’s Graduate Fellowship. Ms. Baruah is currently undertaking her coursework, focusing on exploring the connection between climate variability, ecological migration, and inequality in India and China. She also works as a Research Assistant for the Journal of Southeast Asian Studies (JSEAS), NUS.

In addition to her work on environmental governance and climate-induced migration in Asia, Ms. Baruah’s research interests include India-China Relations, Chinese foreign policy, connectivity in continental and maritime Asia, and non-traditional security threats facing Asia. Prior to her current position, she was a Visiting Fellow at the Jinan University, Guangzhou, China (December 2019 – January 2020).
