August 13, 2025: Mats Engman, Distinguished Military Fellow at ISDP, was interviewed by Sveriges Radio P1 about why the loudspeakers between South and North Korea are being removed.
The South Korean military began removing loudspeakers that had been installed along the border with North Korea. Among other things, they have been playing K-pop across the border.
Why are they being removed now? What is their function? And how is North Korea responding?
