ISDP’s Stockholm Korea Center welcomed a delegation from the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses (KIDA) for a roundtable discussion focused on Sweden’s military management framework

August 18, 2026: Yesterday, ISDP’s Stockholm Korea Center welcomed a delegation from the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses (KIDA) for an engaging three-hour roundtable discussion focused on Sweden’s military management framework, as part of a broader research initiative to gather insights and best practices from European allies regarding the modernization of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.

During the meeting, the delegation was able to draw on the practical expertise of Maj. Gen. (ret) Mats Engman, a Distinguished Military Fellow at ISDP and former senior officer in the Swedish Armed Forces, leading to productive and in-depth discussions that will hopefully benefit KIDA’s upcoming research report.
