Looking back at the CAMCA Regional Forum 2026

October 12, 2026: Alongside the CAMCA Network and the Rumsfeld Foundation, ISDP’s Joint Center from the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute, co-organized the CAMCA (Central Asia, Mongolia, the Caucasus, and Afghanistan) Regional Forum in Baku.

The Central Asia-Caucasus Institute organized the multilateral conference to bring together diplomats, politicians, business leaders, and regional experts to strengthen the regional dialogue that is needed to support the growing connectivity within the ten states that make up CAMCA.

Svante Cornell, S. Frederick Starr, and Laura Linderman were in attendance at the two-day conference.

Dr. Cornell provided welcoming remarks opening the conference and spoke at a panel on “Regional and Global Consequences of the Iran War.” Dr. Starr was the conference’s first keynote speaker, discussing “A Greater Central Asia-Caucasus Convergence.” He moderated an interview with Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, about “The Turkic World and Future Regional Cooperation.” Frederick Starr also moderated a panel on “Greater Central Asia Convergence from C5 to a Wider Framework.”

We extend our thanks to CAMCA Network, Rumsfeld Foundation, and ADA University for another great conference, and we look forward to participating in Uzbekistan next year.
