The possibility of geopolitical flare-ups has been highlighted by China’s ruthless pursuit of all kinds of resources. China’s engagement in the Indian Ocean is not just to have a strong foothold in the region but also to fulfil its domestic demands for energy, food, raw materials, minerals, crude oil, and other essential commodities.
