Clara Oxenvad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a specialization in Security Studies from the Swedish Defence University. Her interests include foreign policy and security dynamics in East Asia, an area she specialized in during her studies. Her Bachelor’s thesis focused on securitizing discourses in the political and media landscape during the 2024 South Korean martial law crisis.

At ISDP, she is currently working on a project examining how traditionally US-allied countries in East Asia are adapting to a shifting foreign policy landscape where previous assumptions and guarantees regarding security are perceived as increasingly uncertain.
