
Anahita Poursafir
Intern
Anahita Poursafir is an intern with the Stockholm Center for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs. She recently earned her Master’s degree in Asian Studies from Lund University, Sweden, where she explored the social, cultural, political, and economic dimensions of East and Southeast Asia, with a special focus on China. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Allameh Tabataba’i University in Tehran, Iran.
At Lund University, she worked as a Supplemental Instructor Leader and served as Chief Editor of Lunartimes, a student-led magazine dedicated to highlighting the region’s key issues and strategic importance.
Her research interests span Global China, the Belt and Road Initiative, the Digital Silk Road, and questions of digital sovereignty, alongside international relations and regional governance. Currently, she is particularly engaged in exploring South Asia and Indo-Pacific affairs, with a focus on India-Sweden relations, and how these evolving dynamics shape the future of connectivity, security, and global governance.
