ISDP-INSS Dialogue: Swedish-Korean Strategic Dialogue on the Peace Process of the Korean Peninsula

On April 05, 2019, ISDP hosted a half-day dialogue entitled “Swedish-Korean Strategic Dialogue on the Peace Process of the Korean Peninsula”, with the Institute for National Security Strategy (INSS) of South Korea. Opening remarks were delivered by ISDP Director Dr. Niklas Swanström and INSS President Dr. Jo Dongho. Topics discussed included the current status of peace and denuclearization negotiations, the need for CSBMs, and the respective roles of South Korea and Sweden in the dialogue process. All participants were in agreement that momentum in U.S.-DPRK negotiations and inter-Korean relations must be preserved in order to consolidate peacebuilding and denuclearization.

ISDP would like to thank the members of INSS, the Korean Ministry of Unification, and Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their attendance and participation in dialogue.
