Jagannath Panda participated in the CEEasia Forum 2026 “Geo-tech frontiers: Europe’s strategic stakes in the Indo-Pacific”

April 23, 2026: Dr. Jagannath Panda, the Head of Stockholm Center for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs, participated in a panel at the CEEasia Forum 2026 in Bratislava. The CEIAS organizes the CEEasia Forum, and the theme of 2026 was “Geo-tech frontiers: Europe’s strategic stakes in the Indo-Pacific”. Many diplomats, journalists, and international experts from Europe and Asia participated in this forum.

Dr. Panda spoke in a panel titled “Do human rights still matter under the pragmatic turn in the Indo-Pacific?” The other members of this panel were: Heiner Janus, a Senior Researcher at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) in Bonn, Germany, and Dolma Tsering, a researcher at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. Dr. Kristina KIRONSKA, the co-director of the CEIAS, moderated this panel. Discussion ranged from human rights to labour rights and EU-Asia and EU-India relations in a changing world order.
