ISDP signs Memorandum of Understanding with IWEP-Kazakhstan

December 17, 2018: ISDP is glad to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of World Economics and Politics under the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (IWEP). Through the Memorandum, the two organizations aim toward, among other activites, mutual exchange of academic information; conducting joint research projects; and holding inter-institutional meetings. The Memorandum was signed at ISDP’s offices by the directors of IWEP and ISDP respectively, Mr. Yerzhan Saltybayev and Dr. Svante Cornell.

Dr. Cornell noted that “ISDP is honored to work toward deeper cooperation with IWEP. The Institute occupies a leading role among think tanks in Kazakhstan and the whole of Central Asia. As such, this agreement will provide ISDP’s Silk Road Studies Program, and the Joint Center it forms with the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute, to further strengthen our ability to conduct high-quality research and analysis on Central Asian affairs. In turn, this will help us fulfill our mission to improve understanding of the region in Europe and America, as well as help develop deeper interactions between Central Asia and the West.”
