Ingrid Tersman joins the ISDP Board
May 5, 2026: ISDP is pleased to welcome Ingrid Tersman as a member of our board.
Ingrid Tersman is a Swedish diplomat with over 30 years of experience from international diplomacy at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and from service at the Ministry of Defence. Her profile is security policy, Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Ingrid Tersman is currently the Rector of the Diplomatic Training Programme at the Ministry, and has served as ambassador to Estonia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and to Moldova. She has held various positions at the MfA related to EU and Nordic issues, including EU-enlargement, conflict resolution, OSCE and conventional arms control. She has also served as Swedish Political Representative and Head of the civilian team at the Swedish International Security Assistance Force/Provincial Reconstruction Team in Mazar-e-Sharif in Northern Afghanistan. Ingrid Tersman has extensive management experience from positions within the two ministries, and has worked as an analyst at the Swedish Defence Research Institute and at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC. She holds an M.A in International Affairs from The American University in Washington, DC.
