“Turkey wants the U.S. completely out of Syria and has already seen how Washington prefers to appease Erdogan rather than confront him. The red line for Washington is likely to be any risks from a Turkish operation to U.S. troops on the ground in Syria rather than whether or not the Syrian Kurds suffer,” said Gareth Jenkins.
