Several Swedish universities are linked to the Chinese military: Bulletin reports finding from the ISDP report that is part of the part of the China-Europe Academic Engagement Tracker

April 13, 2026: Several Swedish universities are linked to the Chinese military: The ISDP report that was part of the China-Europe Academic Engagement Tracker – a database of interactions between European academic institutions and Chinese entities created by the Central European Institute of Asian Studies (CEIAS) and partners from the countries studied, was featured in an article by Bulletin.

“According to the survey, six out of ten Swedish higher education institutions have some form of agreement with Chinese universities linked to military activities.

Many of the agreements are general in nature and concern, for example, student exchanges, but in some cases the collaboration is considered high-risk.”
