Niklas Swanström joined the CISAD Workshop: EU-US-China Science and Technology Competition in the Age of Complexity (part of the EuroHub4Sino project)

February 27, 2026: Niklas Swanström, ISDP’s Executive Director, joined the CISAD Workshop: EU-US-China Science and Technology Competition in the Age of Complexity, which was organized within the European Hub for Contemporary China (EuroHub4Sino) project.

The conference explored how China’s technological strategies impact Europe and the EU’s position, including the shaping of digital space by Chinese firms and the paradoxes of restrictions amid technological progress.

The event featured multiple panels discussing diplomatic relations through technology, China’s advanced tech developments, and trilateral EU-US-China cooperation, with expert speakers presenting on topics such as China’s influence in the Western Balkans, satellite megaconstellations, cyber defense, military-civil fusion, and restrictions on Chinese technologies.
