Klara Enerud is an intern at the Silk Road Studies Program at ISDP. She is in her final year of the master’s program in political science at Uppsala University. Her thesis explores nation-building processes in Kazakhstan following the January 2022 protests and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She has pursued courses in Russian alongside her core studies for nearly three years, and has recently completed an academic exchange in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where she developed a keen interest in the Central Asian and broader post-Soviet region, particularly in issues related to security, international cooperation, and regional development.

Klara also holds a double bachelor’s degree in political science and statistics from Uppsala University.
