Dr. Chia-Chien Chang is an assistant professor of the International Master’s Program of International Studies (IMPIS), National Chengchi University, Taiwan. He received a PhD in Political Science from the University of California Santa Barbara, USA. His main areas of expertise are cross-Strait relations, US-China Rivalry, China’s Influence Operations in Asia & the Indo-Pacific Region, Economic Statecraft, International Monetary & Financial Power, War Finance, Taiwan’s Economic Security and Resilience. He has also published works in Journal of Asian and African Studies (SSCI) and Mainland China Studies (Mandarin, TSSCI). During his visit to ISDP, he specifically focuses on three projects. First, the PRC’s Economic Statecraft and Lawfare in Global Influence Operations, 2019–2025”. Second, China’s grey-zone strategy in the Taiwan Strait under the US-China rivalry. Third, Implementing Taiwan’s Total Defense amid PRC Pressure under a second Trump administration: Challenges and Opportunities.
