Jagannath Panda participated in the conference “Armenia and the Global Gateway: Opportunities within Global South Connectivity” organized by the Armenian State University of Economics

June 2, 2025: Dr. Jagannath Panda, Head of Stockholm Center for South Asia and Indo-Pacific Affairs, participated in the international conference titled “Armenia and the Global Gateway: Opportunities within Global South Connectivity” organized by the Armenian State University of Economics, Yerevan, Armenia, on 23 May 2025. This conference covered a wide range of issues covering EU, Caucasus, and Asia cooperation, factoring in connectivity.
During the conference, a book titled “Armenia and the Belt and Road Initiative: Perspectives from Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia” (Routledge: Taylor & Francis) was released. This book is co-edited by Prof. Sos Khachikyan of the Armenian State University of Economics, Dr. Jagannath Panda of the ISDP, and Prof. Ralph M. Wrobel of the University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau in Germany.
Dr. Panda also visited the Orbeli Center which is an “Information and Public Relations Center of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia” SNCO, which conducts research and analysis on economy, regional, domestic, and foreign policy developments, security, infrastructures, and media. With the experts of the Orbeli center, he engaged in discussions on the connectivity projects between Europe and Asia, IMEC, and issues relating to China-Pakistan CPEC, including the broader Himalayan politics and Tibet.
