Anna Wieslander was interviewed about the Russian drones over Poland and NATO

September 15, 2025: Last week, Anna Wieslander, Chair of the ISDP Board, was interviewed by Sveriges Radio about the Russian drones over Poland and NATO.
First, she was interviewed on Studio Ett on Wednesday, when Poland invoked NATO’s Article 4 and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called it “a provocation,” while Russia, for its part, claimed it was not intentional. Listen to the program here (in Swedish).
Ekot followed up with a segment in which she emphasized that NATO’s shooting down of the drones over Polish airspace was an absolute necessity and that there had been many previous cases where NATO should have taken a clearer stance for deterrence purposes. Failure to respond could, in the worst case, have very serious consequences, including the risk of a major war. Listen in here (in Swedish).
The discussion continued on P1 Morgon with Johan Norberg at FOI, focusing on the lack of American condemnation of the Russian attack. How important is the US’s role in NATO now? What signals does Trump’s statement send to Russia? Find the interview here (in Swedish).
