China's Military Advancement

The development of the Chinese military in recent years has drawn skepticism and even fear over the purpose, especially in East Asia, but also in Europe and North America. The impact of what constitutes one of China's "Four Modernizations" on the regional and global power balance is a point of contention. Research focuses on military transformation and reformation, international and regional role on the Chinese military forces, peace keeping operations, crisis management and strategy.
