Associated FellowAmbassador-in-Residence Ingolf Kiesow has served most of his life as a diplomat in countries in Asia, inter alia New Delhi, Pyongyang, Tokyo and Vientiane. He has also been Consul General in Hong Kong 1997-2000. His many years as an active diplomat in Asia and the Middle East has provided him with in-depth knowledge regarding conflict issues and conflict resolution mechanisms at the very highest political and military levels. Ambassador Kiesow has also been Head Instructor on Security Policy at the National Defence College and a Researcher at the National Defence Research Agency in Stockholm, Sweden, where he conducted research at the department of defence analysis. His extensive publications concern conflict areas in South Asia, the Middle East and the Western Pacific, Korean, Taiwanese and Chinese domestic and foreign policy, Sino-US relations as well as non-proliferation issues and issues related to energy in Asia. Ambassador Kiesow is also a member of the Royal War Science Academy of Sweden and he served as the Head of Chancery of the Stockholm Conference on European Security and Confidence Building Measures in 1983-84.
